MJET enhances its CRJ200 conversion program with launch of Elisen Elite AFS 500
Tailor-Made for CRJ200 Conversions, New Auxiliary Fuel System Offers Superior Range and Increased Cabin Space
MJET, an Elisen Group Company, today announced a new addition to its Evolution conversion program with the introduction of the Elisen Elite Auxiliary Fuel System (AFS) 500.??Exclusive to MJET, the Elisen Elite AFS 500 allows for significantly greater range by providing 4,500 lbs of auxiliary fuel – approximately 12% more than the capacity of the auxiliary fuel system offered for the Bombardier Challenger 850 or a similarly configured CRJ200. Even with increased fuel capacity, an MJET Evolution configured CRJ200 offers an additional two feet of usable cabin space, which extends the flexibility of design potential and allows for unprecedented comfort and luxury. For example, the addition of a second lavatory adjacent to the cockpit is now possible without compromising other amenities (the passenger lavatory is located aft). “Based on simple, reliable and robust ‘clean sheet’ design, the Elisen Elite AFS 500 is specifically engineered to interoperate with the CRJ200’s existing fuel system,” said Taif Rahman, Executive Vice President, Elisen Technologies. “The location of our tanks does not compromise the aircraft’s center of gravity. Optimized design and a weight reduction exercise make this major aircraft modification for extra fuel possible without increasing the aircraft’s weight or reducing its useable payload. The Elisen Elite AFS 500 complies with the latest FAA and EASA requirements, including SFAR 88 §25.981,” Mr. Rahman added. “We are pleased to be actively pursuing the VIP CRJ200 conversion market with a superior engineering and interior completion solution,” said Stéphane Durand, President, MJET. “By directly responding to market demand, our unique proposition simultaneously extends range while increasing usable cabin space. This market is a natural fit for MJET given the expertise that our permanent team has in both business jet completions and CRJ engineering work,” Mr. Durand concluded. Full FAA and Transport Canada certification of the Elisen Elite AFS 500 is scheduled for Q4 2008 and worldwide customer deliveries are to begin immediately thereafter.
